Teachign Demo
The following teaching demo was recorded as a part of the English For All (EFA) program at Ohio University.
Course/ level: Beginner non-native English speakers in the Athens community.
EFA provides classes that are informal and open to anyone in Athens community. Voluntary attendance with no official enrollment through the university assumes no official grading and a varied number of students throughout the semester.
The students of different ages are also coming from a variety of backgrounds: Saudi Arabia, China, Mexico, and Argentina.
They have various reasons for taking EFA class as well. Some of them came as dependents of PhD or Master's students at Ohio University and want to develop their English skills, some want to get their TOEFL scores improved, and others just want to find friends and socialize.
Even though these students were placed in the Beginners class, their proficiency ranged from true beginners (no prior English instruction whatsoever) to low intermediate.
